FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you do park parties?
We do indeed! Park parties are limited to the Reptile Wranglers package only due to uncontrolled variables (off lead dogs etc) that could cause our fluffies to take flight. We also ask if opting for a park party that shade is provided for the animals and children. Even on mild days, it is easy for the reptiles to overheat in a travel crate!
Please ensure you have a Plan B lined up in the event of bad weather conditions on the day of your show!
Do I need to pay a deposit?
We consider bookings locked in and good to go once we have received a response to our confirmation email. Payment for bookings can be made partially or in fully prior to the event on request.
Do you have late fees?
For invoices, we ask that payment is made within seven days of the event's conclusion unless an alternative payment arrangement has been organised with Olivia prior.
Late fees of $10.00 a day will be incurred for invoices 14 days late and upwards to compensate for the additional administration required to retrieve funds.
How is the welfare of animals protected at shows?
Our animals work an average of two days a week, and our presentations are structured to intentionally limit an animal's exposure to the public to ten minute averages. For larger events, display times for animals are capped to one hour before an animal is required to be rested.
LMLAR maintains the right to withdraw animals from shows at any stage if a presenter deems the animal to be distressed, sick or unfit for public interaction.
Can the children hold or touch the animals?
Yes, we like to keep things as hands on as possible. All of the animals we bring to shows are able to be touched and held by participants.
Handling can be limited due to the numbers of guests or the nature of larger scale, public events.
How much room do we need to allocate?
We keep our set up as compact as possible to acommodate all living spaces. We just need enough room for our animal crates and for the children to be sitting comfortably in a circle on the floor for the presentation.
Do you have insurance?
Yes! We are fully insured and able to send through our certificate of currency as needed for event organisers and parents. We also hold current Police checks, WWCC's and relevant commercial permits for the display of wildlife.
What is your cancellation policy?
We do not charge a cancellation fee for shows cancelled with four weeks' notice.
We may apply a 50% cancellation or rescheduling fee for bookings changed within a month of the event.
Full payment is incurred for shows cancelled on the day.
This is to allow us time to replace your booking with others wishing to take your slot, and again in consideration of administration and animal care hours that would otherwise go unpaid.
Do you cap numbers/ charge additionally for a certain number of children?
No, we do not cap numbers or charge additionally. For most enquiries, the total costing of our presentations is listed on the website, inclusive of travel and GST expenses.
(Certain regions of greater Victoria will incur travel fees)
Exceeding recommended numbers for presentations may result in presenters needing to reduce the amount of animal handling opportunities in order to make the designated run time.
How do I pay?
We take payment with cash or bank transfer. Unfortunately, we do not currently have card facilities. A receipt for proof of payment is able to be provided on request.
What if my child is sick/ there is a COVID outbreak at our facility etc?
We understand that life happens. We are forever appreciative of those who engage our services and will support clients as best we can.
Please speak to Olivia directly in these kinds of emergency circumstances to coordinate an alternative date for bookings, or if late notice is unavoidable.
Are the snakes venomous/poisonous?
No. None of the animals we bring to shows are venomous or capable of causing permanent injury.
LMLAR is focused on getting people up close and personal with animals as much as possible, and for that reason, we have never used venomous reptiles in this line of work.
